Vintage Indigenous Art Work Handmade Shoshone Beaded Leather 10\" Doll.
This is a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of Shoshone hand made art.
I was unable to correctly date this or find out who made it. It is my understanding that these would have originally come with a base that the artist would have signed. The base for this doll is missing.
It is in great shape and does not seem to be missing any beads. The regalia is made of buck skin leather which does seem to have some wear (note photos 9-15) but is overall structurally sound and the threads holding it together are strong and tight. It also seems that the feather is in great condition (note photo 9).
It measures 10 inches tall. The arms span 7 inches and the feet 2.5 inches.
