Vintage Thou Shalt Not Steal Monk Ceramic Cookie Jar / Canister
Unique vintage ceramic storage jar featuring a smiling monk in a brown robe. The monk's upper body and head form the removable lid, while the lower robe forms the container.
The front is hand-painted with the phrase “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” giving this piece a great bit of old-fashioned humor and character.
The jar has substantial age-related character, including paint wear, scuffs, scratches, discoloration and areas of paint loss. The black painted hair on the back of the monk's head shows particularly noticeable wear. Please examine all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
The underside does not appear to have a visible manufacturer or maker's mark.
