Vintage Wagner Ware No 12 (1062) Cast Iron Skillet Heat Ring Restored For Sale

This is a example of a Wagner Ware No 12 cast iron skillet that was manufactured around 1924. The pan has a repaired crack at the 1 o'clock position (please see photos). Despite the crack, the pan is in great usable condition and would make a fine daily user for any kitchen. Priced a 1/3rd the cost of an un-cracked example.The cooking surface has very fine patches of etching from corrosion and very light utensil scores. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. Eight sheets of printer paper slipped under one side stops movement on apolished granite surface and does not spin.

Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement.

This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
