Vintange Disston Back Saw 1896-1917, 26.5 in. Cut; 10 TPI; Woodworking, Cabinets For Sale

This is a BEAUTIFUL refurbished Disston Back saw. It features a 26.5 in. cut; 33 inches overall. It was made in the period 1896-1917. It is 10 teeth per inch. It is marked \"Cast Steel--Henry Disston & Sons--Warranted\".

It has a large chip on the horn of the handle, but this does not affect the function at all. There are some small chips around the brass pins. (see pics)

Some one once thought so little of this saw that it was allowed to sit somewhere wet in contact with a cardboard box, which gave it the stains that you see. (see pics)

So I sharpened this saw, and set up a hardwood board for crosscut (myrtlewood). This saw really takes command! It cut EASILY and SMOOTHLY and STRAIGHT, sinking about 1/4 in. into the 1 inch board with each cut. (see pics).

Somebody is going to get a nice addition to their shop.

The handle is good with no cracks. The pins are all good. The blade is straight with no kinks.
