Ifthe cans you are using or considering buying have matching body, capand strap color, then those are military surplus cans which werebuilt for use with diesel fuel only and may not have a suitablegasket for gasoline. If you use the gasket designed for diesel fuelfor gasoline, it may result in damage to the inner flange that wouldcause it to no longer retain the gasket and in the worst case woulddamage the inner flange leaving the can unsealable.
