Direct from a curated, 60+ year antique dealer’s private legacy estate, this beautiful button is a stunning example of 1930s costume hardware.
Design Details & Features:
*Base Disk: A thick, heavy, highly polished deep chocolate brown Bakelite disk base. This base has been fully tested and verified authentic.
*Overlay Detail: Features a highly dimensional, high-relief stamped brass/bronze repoussé rose in full bloom, flanked by realistic textured leaves and tiny accent beads.
*Shank Type: Features a sturdy, self-contained metal loop wire shank embedded securely into the reverse side of the Bakelite base.
*Size: A massive, statement-sized coat or cloak button measuring exactly 1 3/4 inches in diameter (Lignes 70).Condition:
Excellent vintage condition directly out of long-term estate storage! The dark brown Bakelite base is smooth with a beautiful, deep lustrous shine and no cracks or chips. The brass rose overlay fits tightly against the base with superb, authentic aged patina highlighting the recesses of the petals and leaves. Shank is structurally solid and straight. when they stopped hauling these two large totes to antique shows. They acquired the
buttons 25-50+ years ago from estate sales, private sales, sales ect. Some of these
buttons are antique, while others are vintage from the 50\'s and earlier, a few could
be a little later.For the last 60+ years(I stand corrected) they bought, sold and refinished antiques of all kinds. I have
one of the totes and the other one remains at my fathers home. Both totes are now atmy home.
