For sale is an authentic, vintage mid-century empty tobacco tin manufactured for The Combined Tobacco Company for their Everest \"Special\" King Size Cigarettes line. This tin features a beautiful, bright crimson-red lithographed finish wrap featuring a minimalist, retro illustration of snow-capped mountain peaks on the front.
The tin utilizes a distinct oval-cylindrical design topped with an embossed slip-on metal lid. This is an excellent, hard-to-find piece of mid-century global tobacciana advertising that displays beautifully from the front.
Condition Details:- Front & Side Graphics: The main red lithographed face is in very good vintage condition with rich, bright color fidelity. The white lettering and mountain emblem remain crisp and sharp.- Tax Stamp: Features remnants of the original paper duty/tax closure stamp on the side panel, which is split/torn from opening.- Lid Condition: The top face of the lid shows prominent age-appropriate wear, including dulling of the silver finish, scattered paint loss, scratches, and moderate surface oxidation/rust. The embossed text remains legible.- Base & Interior: The interior chamber is solid but displays noticeable storage patina, speck-rusting, and vintage graying. The raw metal bottom plate is fully intact but shows heavy, dark surface rust scaling and oxidation.- Mechanics: The lid slides off and fits securely back onto the oval collar as intended.
