According to Google A.I., this tool would have been used during production as a quick reference go-no go indicator to determine if a particular part was worthy of placement on a build. Google also dayes this iten to a time period between the 1930's thru the early 1950's. It is in working order, with smooth action and a return to zero each time with no sticking. Tbe red hash marks are able to be set with rotation of the upper and lower bezels.
