This is a gorgeous, matching pair of vintage Mid-Century Modern solid brass reclining deer/stag bookends from the prestigious Leonard Solid Brass Collection. These bookends perfectly embody the classic Hollywood Regency design movement, which emphasizes high-glamour metallics and stylized animal motifs. Unlike traditional upright figurines, these stags are cast in an elegant "reclining" pose. This lower center of gravity makes them exceptionally sturdy and functional as heavy bookends that won't tip over. They feature beautiful, stylized relief etchings along their faces and backs, creating a textured surface that catches and plays with ambient room lighting beautifully.
