For sale is a wonderful piece of early 20th-century Southern tobacco advertising history. This is an authentic, vintage "Q-Boid" Granulated Plug Smoking Tobacco pocket tin, manufactured by the famous Larus & Bro. Co. in Richmond, VA.
This classic tin features exceptional yellow and orange lithographed graphics, showcasing an ornate, stylized "Q" layout on the front panel and a detailed tobacco plant emblem on the reverse side. The reverse also bears the iconic marketing taglines: "No Rubbing Required" and "Guaranteed Not To Bite The Tongue".
Design Features:- Traditional curved pocket tin format.- Built-in textured match-striker ridge built directly into the bottom plate.- Side panel includes original Factory No. 45 legal manufacturing text.
Condition Report: This vintage pocket tin is completely empty and sold strictly as a historical collectible container. It is in very good structural shape with a tightly functioning top hinge and lid mechanism. The front and back lithograph artwork displays bright colors and crisp text with minimal wear. The top of the lid shows a moderate patch of paint loss and surface oxidation. The interior chamber and bare metal bottom plate exhibit typical age-darkening, light spotting, and mild surface patina consistent with its age. Free of major dents or crush damage.
