Up for sale is a gorgeous, highly collectible piece of mid to late 20th century Scandinavian studio art class. Designed by the celebrated Finnish contemporary artist Tina Nordstrom for Nuutajarvi (Finland‘s oldest and most prestigious glassworks), this heavy, thick-walled glass sculpture features a beautifully organic, mottled moss-green interior suspension that creates a striking, post-modern animal/stylized form.
This piece is a dream find for a serious collector of Nordic design because it retains both key marks of authenticity:
1. The Original Label:
Features the iconic blue diamond “Nuutajarvi 1793 Made in Finland” paper label on the side.
2. The Etched Signature:
The unpolished, frosted base center is clearly hand engraved with the script signature “Nordstrom” and “NUUTAJARVI” in block letters underneath.
