Vintage West German Jumbo Glass Christmas Ornaments – Set of 4 – Original Box
Beautiful and unusual vintage set of four oversized blown glass Christmas ornaments, made in West Germany and preserved in their original divided presentation box.
Each ornament features a dramatic swirling design in turquoise/teal, vivid pink-red and silvery white, accented with raised silver glitter. The sweeping multicolor pattern and oversized form give these ornaments a fantastic Mid-Century Modern / atomic-era Christmas appearance.
The original box is especially nice to have with this set. The exterior retains its vintage snowflake pattern, original “4 PCS.” label, a “West Germany” label, and the original distributor label reading:
“Dist. by Jack Shilling Co.
South Pasadena, Cal. 91030”
The ornaments measure approximately 4 to 5 inches in diameter (please see measurement photo). These are substantial statement ornaments and considerably larger than standard vintage glass Christmas balls.
Condition: Very good vintage condition overall, especially considering the age and size. The ornaments retain strong, vibrant color and a substantial amount of their original silver glitter decoration. Expect normal vintage signs of age such as scattered surface marks, light scratches, small areas of finish/glitter loss, spotting and other minor imperfections. Please review all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
The original cardboard box shows age/storage wear, discoloration, writing/markings and wear to the clear window, but remains an excellent accompaniment to the set.
A striking and increasingly difficult-to-find complete boxed set of oversized West German glass ornaments—wonderful for a vintage Christmas collection, MCM holiday display, or aluminum Christmas tree.
