Hand painted and crafted in an era where
mass production was still in its infancy!
This lamp captures an uplifting happiness that
makes this lamp design so endearing & appealing!
Throughout most of the twentieth century
parents sought out the most uplifting
and happy settings for their children\'s formative
living spaces - the nursery.
Starting in the 30s, after the depression ended,
this push increased and special wall papers,
toys and decorations were introduced to
families that hungered for a good life for their children.
This lamp is definitely a cozy one!
Pictures of sleeping children on the shade
make clear that this is a nursery lamp and
this lamp would stand guard as precious ones slept!
Good vintage condition. Expected age wear to enamel, plaster
and paper shade. Displays beautifully!
This lamp is an incredibly rare survivor and
one can feel that it has received great love in its
85+ years as a lamp. Objects like this
