HISTORICAL BACKGROUND & DESIGN:• Formed in 1901 and designated the Canadian Army Service Corps (later granted the "Royal" prefix in 1919 to become the RCASC), the corps handled transport, supply, rations, and logistics across all Canadian divisional fronts in WWI.• Features an eight-pointed faceted starburst surmounted by the Imperial Tudor / King's Crown.• Centered with a buckled circular garter belt inscribed "CANADIAN ARMY SERVICE CORPS" enclosing a voided/cut-out Canadian beaver facing left on a log.
CONSTRUCTION & MOUNTING:• Solid die-struck stamped copper alloy brass with an original service-bronzed/pickled finish.• Both badges retain their original dual heavy brazed copper wire looped lugs positioned horizontally (east-west) for cotter pin / split pin tunic collar attachment.
