The 65th Battery was organized and mobilized at Woodstock in 1916 during World War I.
Faint period identification in the lower-right corner of the photograph appears to read approximately “18 Pounder QF Gun – 65 Battery – Woodstock.”
There is also an interesting handwritten notation across the upper portion of the photograph that appears to read:
“This is on that island just below the bridge."
”Back is marked “POST CARD – Made in Canada” and retains its Canadian 2-cent King George V postage stamp and cancellation.
