Original World War I presentation/service medal issued by Hazleton, Pennsylvania and vicinity in recognition of local wartime service.
This elaborate medal features allegorical figures representing Democracy, Liberty and Justice, with eagle suspension and original red, white and blue ribbon. Reverse identifies the presentation as being from the people of Hazleton, PA and vicinity to their loyal fighting sons.
Dates to the WWI period, circa 1917–1919.
