Wedgwood Jasperware Mantel Clock Cane Yellow Black Neoclassical Quartz 4.7\" For Sale

The architectural case is designed in the manner of a traditional mantel clock, with molded scroll details, classical ornamental borders and black applied motifs decorating the front, sides and upper portion. The white clock face is signed WEDGWOOD and features elegant black Roman numerals with a gold-tone bezel.

The reverse of the case bears the impressed WEDGWOOD / MADE IN ENGLAND mark. The quartz mechanism is marked Japan Movement, Sikon Electronics, Whitby, China Case, an important detail that helps distinguish the English Wedgwood ceramic case from the separately manufactured clock mechanism.

The combination of the warm cane-colored Jasperware and dramatic black relief makes this particularly appealing for a Wedgwood collection, mantel, library, office or traditional interior.

Wedgwood developed Jasperware in the 1770s, creating the distinctive matte stoneware that became closely associated with the company\'s Neoclassical designs.
