We believe that this button was issuedby a feminist faction of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), Brooklyn, NY chapter sometime in the late 1960's. It'sintent was to high gender pay equity and other forms of discrimination that female employs faced at the high tech telecommunications behemoth.Has an ingenious design incorporatingthe Bell Systems logo, thefemale symbol and an equal sign.In 1971 the CWAannounced a nationwide strike against Ma Bell with genderdiscrimination being one of their main points of contention. Unfortunately female pay inequity and other forms of gender discrimination are still rampant to this day in high tech and telecommunications. Measures 1 1/2" inches. Rare. One of only two examples we have ever seen.
