The radio works -- actually quite well for its age!!
Both the volume and tuning knobs function as well.
I used one AAA battery (not included) to power it.
It looks a little small for the battery compartment (see the picture) but it seemed like an AA battery was too big.The mfr. says to use one 1.5 volt penlight battery.
Most examples of the Ross RE-210 have \"Ten Transistor\" lettering on the front where this particular radio says \"Solid State\". Additionally, the (lower) rear of this radio shows the frequency range and notes to install a penlight battery for operation whereas most RE-210 radios say \"Ten Transistor\" in that location.
