Original antique Buehman Studio photograph from Tucson, Arizona, featuring two young children identified by the handwritten inscription on the reverse as Ruth and Vincent Sabichi.
The original studio mount is clearly marked “Buehman – Tucson, Ariz.” Buehman was an important early Tucson photographic studio, and its historic photographic archive is represented in Arizona institutional collections.
The handwritten inscription on the reverse appears to read:
“To Eva Lucia Johnson / From Ruth and Vincent Sabichi”
Historical records document Ruth Sabichi and Vincent Sabichi as members of a pioneer Tucson family. Ruth was born in Tucson in 1905, while her younger brother Vincent was born in 1908 and died in 1914. Based on these records, the photograph would date to the early 1910s if the children are correctly identified by the period inscription.
The children are beautifully posed in formal period clothing, with Ruth seated in a white dress and large hair bow and the younger child standing beside her.
Approximate overall mounted size: 7 x 9 inches.
Condition: Original antique condition with expected age-related wear, including minor edge/corner wear, light surface marks and general aging to the mount. The photograph itself remains remarkably attractive with strong detail and contrast. Original handwritten inscriptions are present on the reverse. Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.
