Approximately 40 or more men are visible throughout the structure, standing and sitting along beams at several different levels. The image offers an unusually detailed occupational view of early building construction, with the entire timber frame still exposed.
The exact type and location of the building are unknown. It may have been a barn, warehouse, workshop, hall, or other large wood-frame structure, so no specific building use is being claimed.
The postcard has a divided back marked “POST CARD / CORRESPONDENCE HERE / FOR ADDRESS ONLY” and is unused.
