Hello thank you for viewing my item! This extraordinary doll that we have here depicts a kyoto maiko or geisha apprentice, Origionally the doll came with a case and umbrella but was lost due to time. The doll itself is made from Polonia sawdust as the core of the doll, synthetic fabric for the kimono, synthetic hair, embroidery fabric for her obi, Wires for the arms (could be posable) washi paper ( covers the arms ), layers of a pigment called gofun for the skin, wood as the base and the support beam that supports her (and her get shoes) Chirimen fabric (for some parts of her kimono and hair accessories), and cotton to make the doll look lifelike. however, the doll is in pretty used condition her left hand are chipped and the doll has a slight stain mark on her upper right eye (not that severe) and the doll appears to be made by kyugetsu or Nishi. The doll stands at a staggering 22” (including the base). The doll is still in pretty good shape but there is some fading on the kimono due to the doll being displayed out on direct sunlight for so long. I advise you to keep the doll away from direct sunlight and keep the doll away from any humidity due to the dolls pigment being made from gofun which highly reacts to heat. If i buy the umbrella you’ll expect the price of this doll to be a bit higher.
