1828 Letter from Captain Walter Lester in Norwich CT Mentions John B Stanton:
$103.20

This 1828 letter from Walter Lester, a historic figure in Norwich history, is a fascinating piece of history that will transport you back in time to a bygone era. Penned to his brother, the letter mentions a cargo worth $2500, which provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of commerce at that time, as well as the name John B Stanton.

1/3 of the last page is cut off, unfortunately. The letter seems to end above the cut, however it does affect some of the writing on “outer envelope,” as the paper was folded to make its own envelope using a wax closure.

Note: there is currently a John B Stanton school in Norwich.

All ephemera has wear commensurate to age, including, potentially: nicks, folds, smudges, rips at edges, age stains, old smells, small holes, and other imperfections. You get what you see :)
