It's in very nice condition with an old maker's mark "MERRILL & CO." known to be in business in the 1850's in Hinsdale NH. USA. Other than a few past owner's marks and some minor dings in scratches it's in like new condition. Nice newer hard maple handle with an iron cap ring.
