View Larger Image   Disston D-22 Rip Hand-Saw 1890's 6TPI   Description: Offering this 26" long blade, early 1900's D-22 straight back rip hand-saw. Marked on the Medallion, "H. DISSTON & SONS *PHILADA*", this medallion was used from the late 1890's to about 1920. This saw features the wheat carved handle with some minor wear, but nice looking and solid, firmly attached. The blade is about 98% straight, or basically not 100% perfectly straight, but hardly enough bend to mention (less than .01"), the teeth are even and sharp, 6 point per inch. There is some very minor surface pitting on about 100% of the total surface area of the blade, but it is smooth enough to use with no problems at all. The orginal etch can't be seen. Being that these No. 22 hand-saw were only offered for a short period ending in the mid-1920's, there are few of them available today.
