View Larger Image   Plumb Half Hatchet Nice!   Description: This is a quality made 13.5" long half hatchet marked "PLUMB" in a rectangular logo on the head. This mark is of the FAYETTE R. PLUMB COMPANY manufactured in PHILADELPHIA PA. U.S.A., and they manufacture tools between 1888-1964. The blade has a nice sharp, 3.5" wide cutting edge. The hammer end is very good with no wear noted, with a nice tapered eight sided stem. The handle appears to be original, as it has the "PLUMB" mark on it, very snuggly attacted, and has the adjustable screw type wedge in the head end (very nice feature). The handle is nice, not cracked, nice patina. Overall condition is very good, with minor wear, some minor staining, dings and scratches. The head appears to have been painted black originally, of which there is about 20% intact.
