View Larger Image   Brown & Sharpe Outside Micrometer 1-2 inch 1902 Patent   Description: This is a very nice, clean, 1-2" outside micrometer with .0001 graduations. It is marked "BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I. U.S.A. NO. 48 PAT. DEC. 30, 1902". The fractional equivalents are also marked neatly on both side of the frame. As you can see in the pictures there is no rust, and no past owner's marks, some minor wear and scratches noted. This micrometer features the .0001" graduation scale, and the adjustable brake. The calibration checks out good, the brake works, and will snug the spindle, but no as tightly as many modern day micrometers will. A true antique machinist tool!
