View Larger Image   Johnson Wing Divider Caliper Unique! 10 inch   Description: This is a very nice wing divider/inside caliper, marked "MADE IN AMERICA FORGED ....MFG CO. NEWARK N.J. 10" most likely made by WM. JOHNSON MFG. CO.. This is a rather unique caliper, as it has a inside caliper on one leg, and a divider on the other leg. Generally designed for the layout of parallel line from another establish surface that is higher than the layout line surface, or measuring the distance from a center point to a surface, again higher than the surface the center point is on. A measurement can then be taken with a rule or micrometer caliper. This one is 10" long as show in the pictures. There is some minor pitting noted on most all surfaces except the points, but none effecting use, no rust, points are sharp and in very good condition overall. A very nice design with the fine adjustment feature. The points are good and the joint is snug, all the adjustments work correctly as intended. We do note that the original spring plate for the fine adjustment is missing, and replaced with a coil type spring that works just fine. A hard to find larger capacity model very nice used condition overall!
