View Larger Image   Brown & Sharpe Outside Micrometer 1-2 inch No. 20-1   Description: This is a very nice, clean, 1-2" outside micrometer with .0001" graduations. It is marked "BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I. U.S.A. NO. 20-1". The fractional equivalents are also marked neatly on both side of the frame. As you can see in the pictures there is no rust, nice chrome plating about 98% intact. We note that the last owner marked "INSPECTION" on one side of the frame, otherwise no other marks. This micrometer features the .0001" graduation scale, friction brake on the inner part of the thimble (the knurled larger part of the thimble is the friction part) and the adjustable brake to lock the position or reading. Also it feature the carbide tips. The calibration checks out good, the brake works, and will snug the spindle. This one came in a wooden box, that is include in this sale. The box is from a same size micrometer, but is marked No. 38, a different number as the micrometer is marked No. 20-1. Also include is a Brown & Sharpe 1.0000" standard for calibration.
