View Larger Image   Cincinnati C-Clamp Pair w/Wing Screw Heavy Duty 4 inch   Description: This is a very nice, clean, pair of heavy duty 4" capacity C-Clamps, marked "CINCINNATI TOOL CO. MADE IN U.S.A. H STANDARD CLAMP NO. 540 4IN". The H stand for Hargrave, their trade name for various wood and steel clamps. As you can see in the pictures the clamp is in good shape, no rust or pitting, very clean, not bent up. There is a few small welding flash spots on one clamp, that a mostly plus stock, so you can remove them if you want to, considered minor. The 2nd clamp in the pair is in nicer shape, with very little wear. Both are in very good working order, straight, not bent up, no rust. Each clamp weighs 2 pounds, and has an 7" long frame and the thickness at the clamp pad is 1" diameter, and the threaded screw is 5/8" diameter. This particular type of wing shaped threaded screw end was the earlier style for Cincinnati Tool Co.. Because of the thread design, an amazing amount of presure can be applied with this type, even though it appears to be a lesser area to get a hold of than the newer style clamps. The were very well made, and are still amoung the best ever made in this size. A very well made antique clamp, by a well known tool maker!
