View Larger Image   Lufkin No. 199 Universal Test Indicator w/Case   Description: This is a very nice, test indicator set in it's original case! It is marked "THE LUFKIN RULE CO. SAGINAW MICH. MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 199A PAT. PENDING" on the indicator body. This is a mechanical indicator with 1/1000" graduations, and a total of .010 movement on the graduated scale, in either direction, (reads with pressure applied on either top or bottom of the ball tip). The indicator point at one end has a .10" ball at the end. This style indicator was also designed for use with a transfer stand, or surface gage, the purpose for the other adapter in the set that is supplied. The supplied tool post type holder is in very good shape, and measures .25" x .312" x 6" long. The adapter with the curved end is in great shape, but we note the other piece of it is not in the pictures, but is included. The piece not pictures is a thin rectangular piece of steel with two through holes, one at either end that the threaded rod on the indicator, and the one on the adapter shown attach to it. This allows the indicator to be held in a collet or on a surface gauge, and also positioned at many different angles and positions. It does go with the set as the knurled thumb nut with the fitted spring assembly is the same. The thread thumb nut, and the threads and post of the indicator are in fine condition, as well as the indicator. The indicator has been cleaned and tested, and works just fine. The case is made of metal, with spring loaded hinges that hold the top opened or closed, and has a leather like, black material covering the exterior and a pad velvet material covering the inside, all in great shape. The case is also marked with the Lufkin name and location on the top, and is in about good solid condition with a little wear, closes tight, nice interior.
