View Larger Image   Stanley No 5 Jack Plane Smooth Type 19   Description: This is a nice clean Stanley Bailey No. 5 Jack Plane. Made between 1948-1961. This plane is clean, has a nice near full length cutter, sharp and ready to work. The casting has no cracks, few scratches, nice clean bare metal surfaces. The black Japanning is about 85% intact. The cap cover has the Stanley trade mark in orange on it and has lost about 15% of it's nickel plating. The rosewood front knob is in great shape, little wear to the heavy lacquer finish, solid no cracks. The tote handle is solid, no cracks, with some small areas at the top chipped off, and some minor dings here and there, most of the clear laquer finish intact. A good Jack plane, ready to work! This is a good quality plane from the 1948-61 era, has the heavier side walls on the bed casting, and the frog, lateral, and cutter depth adjustments, all in very good condition.
