View Larger Image   Haines Screwdriver Patented Screw Holding 10 inch   Description: This is a very nice, clean old hardwood handled patented adjustable screw head holding screwdriver with a 1/4" wide slot tip x 10.5" long overall, for the medium size slot head screws. It is marked "HAINES MFG. CORP. KWIK WAY ROCHESTER NY. PATENT PAT. APPL'D FOR". The handle is very nice and solid, well attached to the shaft and has a good steel ferrule also. The finish on the handle is a red stained with some minor wear and fading, but otherwise looks very good. No rust or damage on the steel, minimal wear on the tip one tiny edge chip off, has no effect on use. This type screwdriver has a spring loaded return sleeve that holds medium size slot screws with the slot drive engaged for starting and driving screws. The holder sleeve keeps the screw aligned with the screwdriver also, making fast work of starting and driving screws. We see so few of these original patented slot screw holding screwdrivers these days! Nice! We have had/seen others with a patent date on them by this company.
