View Larger Image   Lufkin Steel Folding Rule No. 173ME Metric/Inch   Description: This is a very rare metric on one side, inch graduations on the opposite side flex steel folding rule in very good condition with snug joints, straight not bent, minimal darkening or staining on the otherwise shiney steel finish. It is marked "METRIC NO.173ME THE LUFKIN RULE CO. SAGINAW MICH. U.S.S." on the metric graduation side, and "LONDON" on the inch graduation side. I am not sure what the London mark means, but the inch graduation on that side are in 1/16ths up to 39-5/16. The reason it ends in an fractional amount is that is it even on the metric side at 100 meters, the graduations in MM or milimeters. This rule is basically the same as the Lufkin No.1173 folding rule, but this one has Metric on one side.
