View Larger Image   Stanley No. 5C Jack Plane Type 17 War Production   Description: Offering this nice clean 14" long x 2" wide cutter, Stanley Bailey No 5C (corrigated bottom) Jack Plane Type 17 with the corrigated bottom, dated 1942-42 war production years; blade is marked "Stanley" with the rectangular logo, and "MADE IN U.S.A.". The bed cast lettering reads "BAILEY MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 5" and the cap cover is marked "STANLEY". This particular plane has near like new solid hardwood knob, and tote handle, very nice, most all the clear lacquer is intact! The original plane was said to have been sold originally with hard rubber on the frog adjustment wheel, but this one is solid brass, works fine, in great shape. Otherwise this plane has all the features of a type 17 plane. The plane is in very good condition with some wear on the original black Japanning, but over 95% still intact; bear metal surfaces good++ condition, no cracks or chips; clean, minor light staining or darkened color. The 2 inch wide blade is very clean, ready to work, no cracks or chips; cutter is 95% intact and sharp.
