View Larger Image   Stanley Fore Plane No. 6C Type 17 1940's Era   Description: Offering this nice clean 18" long x 2.37" wide cutter, Stanley Bailey No 6 Fore Plane Type 17 with the corrigated bottom, dated 1942-45 WWII war production. The blade is marked "Stanley" with the rectangular logo, and "MADE IN U.S.A." under it. This particular plane has very nice solid hardwood knob, and tote handle, with the thick clear lacquer finish, some minor finish issues but over 98% like new condition. The plane is in very good working condition with some wear on the original black Japanning, but over 60% still intact; bear metal surfaces good++ condition, no cracks or chips; clean, minor light staining or darkened color. We note a past owner's idenifacation marks on one side, a prick-punch type marking. The 2.37 inch wide blade is very clean, ready to work, no cracks or chips; cutter is 98% intact and sharp. Some of the nickel plating is intact on the cap cover, looks good, most all the orange paint is intact around the raised STANLEY lettering.
