1970\'s Holly Hobbie Aladdin Metal Lunch Box Thermos Friends Need No Invitation For Sale

Vintage Holly Hobbie metal lunch box with matching thermos, manufactured by Aladdin Industries, Incorporated of Nashville, Tennessee, with artwork licensed by American Greetings Corporation.This is the “Friends Need No Special Invitation” design, believed to date to 1973.The lunchbox has wonderful wraparound Holly Hobbie artwork, including the picnic-bench scene on the front and additional outdoor scenes along the sides and top. The orange/red trim, matching handle and original metal latch are intact.
Inside the box is the original-style Holly Hobbie thermos with orange/red cap, held by the wire thermos retaining bracket. The inside lid features the illustrated “Safety First” panel published as part of the National Safety Council Child Safety Campaign and marked Aladdin Industries.The exterior graphics remain colorful and attractive despite the expected vintage wear. There is an old paper name/identification label underneath the handle on top of the lunchbox. It has been left in place rather than attempting removal.
