Original Vintage 1995 Marriott Marquis Hotel Restaurant Menu Times Square New York City Manhattan
The New York Marriott Marquis stands on a Broadway block cleared in 1982, when the original Helen Hayes and Morosco theatres, the Bijou and remnants of the Astor and Gaiety were demolished for developer-architect John C. Portman Jr.\'s hotel; the theatre community fought the plan for years, and 165 people were arrested at the Helen Hayes site on March 22, 1982. The hotel was permitted only on condition that a Broadway house be built within it, and the 1,611-seat Marquis Theatre opened on its third floor on July 9, 1986 with concerts by Shirley Bassey. Its best-known dining room, The View, opened with the hotel in 1985 on the 47th and 48th floors and remains New York\'s only revolving restaurant, making a full turn above Times Square in roughly 45 minutes to an hour.
It measures 10\" x 10\" closed and 20.5\" x 10\" open. It\'s over 1 lb unpacked so shipping weight will be 2 lb when packed between two sturdy cardboards for safe shipping
