Lot of two original antique H. H. Bennett stereoview photographs featuring historic Wisconsin scenery.
Both are from Bennett’s Wanderings Among the Wonders and Beauties of Wisconsin Scenery series and retain their attractive yellow/orange printed mounts.
Included are:
No. 389 – “Looking out of Entrance to Witches’ Gulch”
From In and About the Dells of the Wisconsin River.
No. 39 – “Ruins of an old mill at Pewitt’s Nest, on Skillet Creek”
From Among the Bluffs of the Baraboo.
Wonderful early photographic views showing the rugged rock formations and scenery for which the Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo region became famous.
Both cards are attributed on the mounts to noted Wisconsin photographer H. H. Bennett, whose stereoscopic photographs played an important role in popularizing the Wisconsin Dells as a tourist destination.
Good antique condition overall with expected age-related toning, light staining/soiling, edge and corner wear and minor surface wear. Backs are largely blank and show light age discoloration. Please examine all photographs closely for condition.
