This is a lovely Antique, Victorian period, Perkins, North Shields 1892, 8-day Striking Mantle / Wall Clock.
The mechanical movement is in working but is running fast. Looking at the hanging of the pendulum, the suspension spring is not correct and a rigid arm for the pendulum to hang from is likely required to lower the pendulum to slow it down, so does require some attention and is priced accordingly. It strikes on the hour and half hour as it should.Included is a key for winding up.
It has a beautifully carved grapevine design to the front of the wooden case and will stand alone as a mantle clock or can be used as a wall clock.
The wooden case and glass to the door are in good condition with just a little age-related wear, but no chips or cracks to the glass and measures approximately 58cm high at the front and 31.5cm by 13cm at the base.
