Beautiful antique copper and brass spirit/tea kettle with matching ornate warmer stand and burner, featuring a striking stylized thistle motif and flowing Jugendstil / Art Nouveau design.
The kettle is attributed to Carl Deffner of Esslingen, Germany, based on the design, construction and shield-form hallmark visible on the underside. The hallmark is worn/partially obscured from age, so please review the close-up photograph provided.
Features a substantial copper kettle with decorative brass fittings, sculptural overhead handle, fitted lid, elegant floral brass stand and central spirit-burner assembly. The thistle decoration is especially beautiful and gives the piece a wonderful Arts & Crafts/Celtic appearance.
Condition: Antique condition with wonderful aged patina. Expected surface wear, tarnish, small marks and signs of use consistent with age. Interior shows considerable oxidation/mineral residue from previous use, as photographed. The stand has a slight wobble when empty but supports the kettle when assembled. Burner has not been tested, and the piece is being sold as a collectible/display antique rather than guaranteed for modern food or beverage use.
Please examine all photographs carefully; they are part of the condition description. I have intentionally not aggressively polished or restored the piece in order to preserve its aged finish and patina.
Measures approximately 15 inches tall when assembled and approximately 5 inches wide. Please review photos for scale.
