Antique Keasbey & Mattison Company Effervescent Alkalithia pharmaceutical bottle from Ambler, Pennsylvania, dating to the early 1900s.Beautiful sapphire/cobalt blue glass bottle retains its extensive original paper Alkalithia label and embossed Keasbey & Mattison lettering around the shoulder.The label states that the product was guaranteed to comply with the Food and Drugs Act of June 30, 1906, Serial No. 716, providing an excellent period reference for this early pharmaceutical package.Bottle measures approximately 6 inches tall.The bottle also retains a substantial quantity of old granular material believed to be the historic contents. Contents have not been tested or chemically identified and are included strictly as part of the antique collectible presentation. They are NOT offered for consumption, medicinal use or any other use.Original label remains remarkably complete for its age with expected toning, staining, edge wear and small losses. Old closure/seal material remains at the mouth. Glass displays the bubbles, irregularities and manufacturing characteristics expected of an early bottle.
