This is a beautiful, rare turn-of-the-century "Gone With the Wind" style hurricane parlor table lamp manufactured by the renowned Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass & Glass Company (PLB&G / Pilabrasgo), dating between 1895 and 1905.
Unlike most parlor lamps found today, this piece is 100% original and has never been converted to electricity. It retains its authentic kerosene oil configuration, making it a pristine choice for antique purists and serious lighting collectors.
* Glass Body: Blown milk glass with a gorgeous, cased satin/acid-finished pink-to-white shaded exterior gradient. Both the upper globe shade and the lower base globe match perfectly.
* Art Motif: Hand-painted with a rare, sepia-toned Pastoral Sheep & Dog scene (a herding dog watching over a resting flock in rolling hills). This figural motif is highly sought after and much harder to find than common floral designs.
* Hardware: Sits securely on its original, ornate, four-footed pierced filigree brass base stamped with pattern/foundry mold number 916 on the underside.
* Condition: Excellent antique condition. No cracks, chips, or repairs to the fragile antique glass globes. The brass base and original spider shade support arms are structurally sound with a beautiful aged patina. Note: Does not include an inner clear glass chimney. Thanks so much for considering the purchase of this item, I truly appreciate you taking the time to look.
