Description & History
Olbertz built these Solingen Bulldogs for the U.S. market. Collectors look for the fighting-dogs tang and the Pit Bulls Trade Mark etch. This whittler has both. No year stamp on the tangs we can read. That stamp set is the early Olbertz mark (first generation 1978–1987, and some later runs into the early 1990s). It is not the later standing-dog or double-head generation.
Celluloid shrink at the bolsters is age, not a loose handle, as long as the pins are tight.
