Pat Castka Little Pilgrim Doll 2003 Signed Tagged Pumpkin Folk Art 7.5”
Handmade folk art doll titled “Little Pilgrim” by celebrated artist Pat Castka of Old Friends, Sayville, New York. This whimsical handcrafted figure wears a traditional brown pilgrim outfit with a cream collar, hand-painted paper mache sculpted face, stick legs and painted brown shoes, and carries a hand-painted pumpkin suspended by a wire.
The original Old Friends hang tag remains attached with “Little Pilgrim” handwritten on the reverse. The artist-signed button on the back is marked P.C. ’03, dating the piece to 2003.
Pat Castka’s dolls are individually handcrafted with expressive faces and wonderful primitive charm, making each one unique. This figure displays beautifully with primitive Halloween, Thanksgiving, autumn, or folk art collections.
Condition
Very good vintage condition with the original hang tag attached. Artist-signed button dated 2003 is present. Minor discoloration and light soiling to the painted face and clothing that appears intentional, along with wear to the painted shoes. Pumpkin is securely attached.
