Up for sale is this VERY RARE 19thC ANTIQUE F. GROTE & Co. NY FARO CASE KEEPERBelieved to be made of Rosewood with Bone Sliders. All the cards are hand painted.This is a Luxury Case Keeper from a smaller super high-quality maker from NYC.They distributed mostly to the Eastern Riverboat Gambling scene in the mid 1800'sIt is the only one I have seen made of gorgeous Rosewood or possibly Black Walnut with what I believe are carved bone sliders.The condition is amazing for a casino item well over a hundred and twenty-five years oldSome light surface scratches on the original rosewood finish. The cards and paint are near perfect with just a little distressing around the edges. I do not see any chips on the sliders.Measures about 11 3/4" by 11 1/4" opened up.Shipped Insured with signature required
