Up for sale is this exceptional example of sleek Midcentury Modern barware design from the late 1950s-1960s. Designed by the legendary German-born designer, Tommi Parzinger, this cocktail shaker features clean, minimalist geometry beautifully balanced by a warm, turned walnut hourglass handle.
Because the distinct proportions, cylinder execution, and handle integration perfectly match verified Parzinger barware ensembles, the market confidently catalogs and values this exact line under his name.11.5" tall and 3" in diameter. Signed "138" on all three pieces (body, inset strainer, and top). Stamped on the bottom "MADE IN ITALY" (as shown).
This exceptional cocktail shaker has been in my personal barware collection since the late 1980s and has been very well cared for. It is in excellent condition with minor exceptions noted.
Tommi Parzinger (1903–1981) was a highly influential German-born designer who became a leading figure in the American Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century Modern movements. He was famous for combining pure modernist geometry with upscale luxury details, often pairing sleek metals with beautifully sculpted wood handles.
This same cocktail shaker in lesser condition is listed on other sites for nearly $500.00.
