Up for sale is a Vintage Barling J.J Fox Pot smoking Pipe, in very nice condition!
This is a pipe from the post transition era of this esteemed brand. Pipes made during the \"Family Era\", which continued up until the beginning of the 1960\'s, are considered among the finest of all the English made brands. When the brand changed hands, the lettering on the pipe was changed to the name in script vs. the older block lettering. These pipes were rumored to have been made with the same briar and bowls as the family era pipes, at least in the beginning. They are still fine smoking pipes, and I don\'t believe they get enough credit, especially in the collector market. This pipe was retailed through the famous JJ Fox London retail shop and bears that stamping.
This piece is stamped \"Barling\" (in script), \"London England\", \"King\" \"6269\", J.J. Fox London\" \"T.V.F.\", and a two digit number I can\'t quite make out, possibly \"29\"? The stamping on the pipe is all clearly legible, but the stem stamp is missing, as happens on these older pipes. The stem is clearly an older and proper stem, and in great condition. The pipe measures approximately 6\" L x 1-3/4\" H x 1-5/8\" Wide. It is nicely grained, and roughly a group 5/6 size. It weighs 1.6 ozs. This is a very nice pot billiard, a classically shaped piece.
