The Dugway geodes have long been a popular geode/thunderegg from the western United States, known for their higher percentage of hollow cavities compared to most thundereggs that are lined with quartz, agate, and chalcedony. The amount of sparkle or drusy quartz does vary a little bit with these geodes, but they are popular for lapidary use as their rinds often have interesting designs and take a good polish, plus many of these thundereggs do fluoresce bright green under shortwave UV light! A common observance with geodes from this new claim is there is almost always a degree of grey/blue agate in the rind, with a varying interior hollow cavity from blue chalcedony to the finest and most sparkly drusy quartz you could imagine and even a mix of the two in some geodes. Some of these geodes also have quartz growths/scepters, very infrequently purple amethyst quartz, and every once in a great while calcite may be present. We have provided sample pictures and a video of the geode sizes and more common interiors - ones that you are most likely to receive specifically in these Utah Dugway geodes/thundereggs once opened. All of the geodes pictured were randomly selected from the first shipment of these geodes we received direct from Utah.
