View Larger Image   Peck, Stow, & Wilcox Ratchet Brace 8 inch No. 1003   Description: This is a very nice, clean, late 1800's patented ratchet hand brace, and it has a 8" swing. It is marked "PAT.FEB.10.1884" on the solid steel part of the ratchet system area (the stamp is half struck, hard to read, but we have had one before with a full stamp in the same place). It is also marked "P.S.&W. CO.NO. 1003" basically a abbreviated/logo name used by (PECK, STOW, & WILCOX). This model has the flip lever ratchet control system. The ratchet system and chuck is in very good condition with nice heavy duty, spring loaded jaw inserts, the knurled part of the chuck or the chuck sleeve is steel with very little wear, very good working ratchet system as well. The head turns smoothly, capped with a very nice rosewood handle, and the crank handle matches it very well in condition and appearence. The condition is very good overall, with little wear overall, some small dings on the steel. The sweep handle is also rosewood, and in very nice condition. In really good working condition overall.
